2006-02-20 [Skydancer]: There are two major digital drawing types. Raster, where the idividual pixels are coded so each element has data for the color, transparency, brightness and so on, and vector where the image is calculated by line, angle, fill, and attiributes but not a fixed number of pixels. Vectors are typically the instructions for the image, which is then rendered by the viewing program. Photoshop is a raster program. Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator for instance, are vector programs.
